When it comes to hair transplant, FUE hair is the most applied method. Most patients know about this procedure. Hair transplant has come a long way since FUT (follicular unit transplant).  Now, all the scarring caused by FUT is eliminated. This is one of the major developments in hair transplant operations. What is more, FUE technique can enable faster recovery.

FUE (follicular unit extraction) method eliminates scarring on the scalp. In the past, hair strips were extracted. To extract these strips, doctors made a cut at the back of the head. After extracting the strips, this cut was sutured. As in all other operations, suturing caused scarring. Slit FUE and Sapphire FUE eliminate this scarring issue.

Slit FUE Hair Transplant

Slit FUE hair is highly popular method. This method can be applied to most patients. In this method, special punch motors are used for collecting hair grafts. Each graft is collected separately. In this process, handheld special punches are used. This process is followed by clearing hair grafts. When collected, hair grafts are surrounded with tissue. These issues should be cleared before implanting. Otherwise, implanted hair might not be successful.

When grafts are kept in the solutions, the doctor will create small channels in transplant area. In the Slit method, the surgeon’s blade is used for this process. At this point, the doctor’s skill and expertise play an important role.

Sapphire FUE Hair Transplant

Sapphire FUE hair transplant is almost identical to the Slit FUE method. In this method, instead of surgeon’s blade, special diamond-edged blades are used. These diamond-edged blades reduce damage. And recovery is faster in this method.

Another benefit of this method is opening more precise channels. This way, hair roots can grab the channels better. This will enable stronger hair growth. However, Sapphire FUE might not be suitable for everyone. The doctor will decide on the most suitable hair transplant.
